Installation Saint Helen Catholic Church, Pearland, Texas Though shown with the regalia of a Queen, Helen’s expression captures the devotion of the senior, chosen by the commissioning parish as the moldel for this sculpture. She clasps the piece of the Cross to her chest. The contrapasto, a counterbalance technique developed by Donatello and Michaelangelo, is used by Lynn to capture the moment where Saint Helen is enraptured, taking a stride in the direction of the viewer, and holding this precious relic cradled in her arms.
